Well, here is the Jeep. I'm considering some new rims for it, but I have some other things to do to it first. I got this for $500. The engine and trans run VERY well!
Front view:
The badging. 4.0 and a 5 speed two door. A pretty desired combo in the Cherokee:
Here's a small problem I have to deal with. Thankfully it's only in this area:
What it needs are two tires for the front now, a rear brake cylinder on the right side (leaking), a front left u-joint (going to do both u-joints on the front axle as well as both rear brake cylinders at once), and the suspension is also 245,000 miles old. So after I piece it together little by little, I'd like to do a little light trail running, nothing heavy duty though.
UPDATE 5/12/08: New engine is in it (4.0 HO still), rear tires on, front tires will be on soon, front left and front right u-joints are replaced, as well as the clutch, pressure plate, and bearing. The slave cylinder was also replaced since it's a hydraulic clutch. I also had to replace the ignition switch in the steering column yesterday as it finally gave up the ghost.
Update 2/18/2009: 3" Skyjacker lift kit is ordered, but on backorder..go figure. I decided to go with a full kit, leafsprings included since it obviously needs them with it's horrible sag. During the last year I have also had to repair the driver's seat as well. Sounds like some bearings are going out in the transfer case, but I have a line on a transfer case with a slip yoke eliminator for a fair price, so it evens out. In early march it will be going in for a passenger side floor pan replacement as well as a unibody crack repair, and I'll just have them stick the lift on at that time. I'm also going to have the speedometer calibrated at that time since the bigger tires throw off the speedometer by 10 mph at 65 MPH. It's progressive, so at 27.5 mph it's 5 mph slower than what I am doing. You kind of end up guessing at the speeds inbetween those points.
Ok, so it required a bit more work than I thought. Updates are now on page 2.
