this truck was bought for $4,000 and was well worth it as plain as it was. had it through my senior year and got me back and forth from north Idaho to Wyoming. just this last winter i blew a head gasket and took the opportunity to drop a small block Chevy Vortec in it. 2007 fuel injected V8 in this truck is amazing! take a look. feel free to ask how i did it.

i built this hood by folding the toyota metal up for the hight, then molded the center section of a 92 silverado hood to the cover the top (notice the rib running up the middle)

this was the first time the motor sat alone on the mounts.  we set it in and pulled it out many times to get everything just right. honestly, its much easier to work on this motor than the old V6. all the plugs are very easy to get to and the oil filter and drain plug are side by side abouve my sway bar.  with smart driving, i've gottn as much as 19 MPG and no less than 16.  i'll be adding more pics of the exhaust and underview shots for those wanting to do a swap. just ask, i'd love to help out with any tips on what we ran into through the build.

Thanks man I am gonna check out the advanced adapter headers! I didnt know if the block huggers would clear the front axle mounts on the IFS. NW offroad performance has a nice set of headers but the price is $670 which is a little steep.

That is really cool. The first I've seen like it. did you have to modify the floor board? How well did the exaust fit? Did you have plenty of clearance by the steering rod?
