(Under Construction)
This is an old '66 GMC 1000 series pickup. There weren't a whole lot of GMCs built compared to Chevy. The drivetrain in this 'ole beast is really interesting and unique to GMC.
These pictures aren't the best, but they get the picture across for now. We (me and my dad)are going to restore it, but it will be slow.
Future plans are still pretty iffy. For paint, I'm thinking black with silver around the back glass, silver on the GMC lettering on the tailgate, and a little down the side.

Big 'Ole Camping Mirror. There is only one installed, the other one is in three pieces in the bed.

Now some pictures of the rust. It is fairly minimal for this body style of truck. The two common places were the cab corners and at the bottom of the doors. The tailgate is another story. It is rusted beyond repair and we will have to get a new one at some point. It will be one of the last things we do before paint. It will be driven daily once we get it to be reliable.

This is the spot on the driver's side rear quarter panel where the exhaust cooked off the paint. The pipe was had been kicked or had hit something in the road or something of that nature. It was angled up instead of straight like it was supposed to be and half of it was spitting exhaust at the inside of the rear quarter panel.

This is the bed. Some diamond plate has been welded in over the original wood.

Here's the interior. Pretty, huh? The seat will need to be totally replaced because it is missing springs.

The dash is stock. There were only three standard gauges. Not suprisingly, none of them work consistently. GMC offered more gauges than you could think of, but the most common ones are tach, oil pressure, and clock.

Here's one of my favorite pictures. The boxed off letters only came on the 1966 models. The '60-'65 pickups had rounded letters.

Here's the heart of the beast. It's an original 305 Big Block V6. She runs alright. A tune up, a new carb, and a clean air filter would do wonders for her. It leaks an excessive amount of oil. Sometimes up to 2 quarts a week. It is hooked up to a 3 on the tree.
