1956 Buick Special 2-Door Sedan
I bought this car while living in California in 1995. It was a complete car, but had issues. The guy I bought it from was a dyed in the wool Buick man. He had fallen on some hard times and was liquidating everything to move to Utah. The Buick had to go. $1500 and a tow later, it was in my garage. These Buicks are special in our family. Grandpa was always a Buick man and my dad learned how to drive on a car just like this.
This car needed a lot of work. I rebuilt the engine and front suspension digging 40 yers of grime out of it. The car was orginal and complete, but the southern California sun is not kind to fabric and plastics of the 50's.
I drove the car a little bit and tinkered while in California. Years later after moving back to the midwest I started a complete frame off rebuild and restoration.
Funny thing is I uncovered a number of bullet holes in the car as I stripped away the layers of paint and filler. Must be some story behind this one.
