68 Coupe deville, factory Black on Black, has been in New Zealand since 1974, I purchased Aug 04, estimate It had been stored about 15yrs. Has been off the road the last 16months getting repainted, rechromed, detailed, numerous engine /engine bay , differential, and suspension parts powder-coated. About half of the front suspension and steering has been chromed, Wheels are 18x8 intros, with pirelli scorpion zero 255/45R18.

All side mouldings, scripts, and door handles have been shaved, antenna Frenched, boot moulding and padded roof removed. Window mouldings blacked out. Paint is a custom mix based on the 1998 Rolls/Bentley Wildberry Mica, darkened and flaked, cleared-polished-cleared. Trunk lid and hood have pinstripe design in Black, sort of ghosted. New grill has been fabricated from laser cut 306 stainless, using the original pieces as templates, then block sanded and mirror polished.

Factory limited slip differential powder-coated and reassembled

The original rosewood vernier was striped down, cleaned up, and Canadian Birdseye maple epoxied right over the top, fine sanded, lightly stained and several coats of clear polyurethane, then hand polished. Bezels will be the exterior color. Also adding Roll-Royce rear seat vanity mirrors, to the sailboard panels, these can be seen refinshed and to the left in the finshed vernier photo. In the background you can see the grill pieces back from laser-cutting, and awaiting block sanding and polishing. With 17 horizontal pieces and 11 vertical, this proved to be a very tiring monotonous job

Will load more photos and story as I complete the work. At this time I am covering various interior pieces in black leather (dash, rear sailboard panels, rear package tray, A-pillar covers and visors). Will be assembleing the grill, refitting the interior, fitting the remote door kit, and refitting all the exterior chrome. Thanks for having a look. Cheers......Tyrone
