This is my 77 mustang cobra II drag car. I've owned it since 1999 and used to race it in street trim with a mild 351W and C4 transmission. It ran in the mid-12's in street trim with slicks. Several years ago I decided to make it a full blown drag car so I back halfed it, tubbed it, narrowed a ford 9" rear and set it up with a 4 link rear suspension. I made a tube frame for it, set the engine back a bit using engine plates, stripped the interior and tore the engine down to be built into a stroker based on the 351W block. Divorce happened as it sometimes does and the car was put on hold. That's where it's at right now but I'm starting on it again and hopefully will have it back on the drag strip this spring. Here are a few pics I have right now. I'll post more later as the work progresses. Click on my member profile to see the other cars in my garage.
The next three pictures are of the car when I was racing it in street trim before I started the race modifications

Let's see some new pics on the progress! Looks like it will be a really sharp ride! I'd get a different scoop, but that's just me. How about some pics of the back half!!!!!!

Nice work! I like the the whole set up. What is your plan for the trans? Im thinking about going with a powerglide because I have herd alot of bad things about the c4 trans brakes. Also did you do anything with the front springs for weight transfer my front end feels way to stiff.
