i got mine from a maroone too. anyways, yes it is painted but no i didnt pait it myself. I went to a body shop and let the pros do it. i didnt want to mess it up or have the paint fade over time.

All you gotta do is pop off the clear pieces you push in to turn the lights on. I used one of those very small screwdrivers you use for glasses. But you can use anything really. You can do it that way or just pop out the whole piece around the entire thing. Either way it's easy and it pops right back on.
