Under construction, My road/race car. V8 Toyota quad cam, Hiace diff, Corona front suspension, Altezza wheels and brakes.
Fibreglass flares taped on for wheel measurements
Hiace limited slip diff, 4.3 ratio, haven't needed to narrow it because of flares and the offset of wheels I'm using (50)
V8 rear sump engine sitting behind Corona crossmember.
Toyota auto transmission, it will be sequential shift with lock up torque converter, and hopefully engine braking.
Finally rolling. Engine sitting on block of wood on crossmember.
Flares on, I used 6mm riv-nuts and button head cap screws, some finishing to do at the front on the fibreglass.
Details so far, I used the whole front suspension out of an ST140 Corona, I have removed the Starlet sway bar mounts from the chassis at the front and fitted the corona in place.
The corona crossmember required a little modification to fit, filed out the mounting holes 10mm each.
The struts will need shortening and coil overs fitted.
The corona stub axle is the same length as the Hiace, it just has smaller bearings so I had a sleeve made to exact sizes to slip over the axle, this allows me to use the 5 stud Hiace hub and original Hiace bearings and seal.
Negative camber is achieved because the corona bottom arms are wider than the starlet. I mounted the Corona suspension top into the inner guard (made the hole bigger).
