We were on a tight budget, so we got creative. Sitting in a corner of the workshop was an original intercooler. So, I hatched a plan of how we could get the most of two of them..
We used two original Srt-4 intercoolers with modified end tanks and TIG-welded together;
Next, got together all the material for the turbo-manifold. I usually use 316 tubing, but in this case I went with a slightly lower grade (and lower temp thresh-hold) 304 tubing.
Still, it's 4mm thick; about 3/16", so it'll take the abuse just fine.
The flanges are carbon (not stainless) steel, because it provides better expansion control and seals better with the head.
