this is a father son project(actually the whole family), its a 1973 vega gt v8 v-8 we bought as a running 140ci vega with a automatic transmission, first we converted it to a s10 rear end ,then we purchased a sbc 283 and had the heads and bottom end re-done the heads are 54cc close chambered arrow heads with dual springs, we added the summit k1104 cam lifters with cam lock and aluminum edelbrock torker intake with edelbrock 600cfm carb,flame valve covers with matching oval air cleaner,we installed the solid motor mounts with sanderson headers,high volume oil pump with extended screen for the moroso 6 quart pan, also we added the high volume short water pump topped off with a aluminum pully and monza 4 core radiator with 2950cfm pusher fan,we added the summit th350 transmission with a 2000 stall converter and topped it off with a b&m ratchet shifter, we had a 82 cutlas driveshaft cut 7 inches to hook to the rear end and re-installed our stock vega swaybar to the s10 rear end, also we installed a one wire 100 amp (self exciting regulator) alternator with chrome housing,a 3hp mini starter was installed along with a sfi approved 153 tooth flex plate,we bought a set of centerlines 15x8.5 in the rear and 15x3.5 in the front, with new mt flame dot tires out back,steel braided battery cables,lokar trans steel braided dip stick,hei aftermarket distributor which lead to mallory wires,we still have a few things we will being doing to the car now that its finally on the road after a year of work and money,we want to tub it and convert the front to s10 spindles and change out the fuel pump.
