cjinx’s 1995 Toyota 4Runner

Both enclosures with grills I installed the tweeters onto the pillars of each door and the 4inch mids into the stock locations in the dash. Amps : KENWOOD KAC718 (sub amp) Right KENWOOD KAC748 (4ch amp) Left Both amps are bolted under the driver and passenger seats, to both hide them and so that I could keep all of my cargo space to carry anything I need to. Speakers: Front: KENWOOD KFCP402 (4" seperates) Rear: KENWOOD KFCX166 (6" 2ways)

I started with 2 panels I bought at an autowrecker ($5.00), and preceded to cut out a template for the speaker to sit into, out of 3/4" MDF. Then I wrappped the pods with a T-Shirt and applied 3 coats of fibre glass resin. After that dried for a day, I used bondo to fill in the imperfections and then did a lot of sanding. Next I wrapped them in vinyl (couldn't get an exact match). I will be covering the speaker covers with tan grill cloth, once I get some. Then I installed them into the 4runner and they sound a million times better than the 4 " speakers in the stock locations. The final cost was around $100.00 CND. A lot cheaper than Q-forms, and I have the satisfaction of doing it myself.

This is my 4runner. After I bought it, I had to get rid of the stock deck(sold on ebay), and put in something that sounded A LOT better. I decided for an Eclipse cd player because I had one in my old Civic and it was a great deck. I choose the 5441i because it had a seperate subwoofer control on it. Next, I choose Kenwood for their speakers and Amps because I've had Kenwood before and I never had a problem with any of their components. I choose JL subs because for the price, they work the best. The 2 JL 8" subs are fit into two custom made enclosures (0.4 Cubic ft that I made out of 3/4" MDF), mounted in place of the stock compartments in the left and right sides of the cargo area.
