reamer73's 1976 Chevrolet C/K Pick-Up

I bought this truck 4 years ago for $700 and it sat at my buddy's farm for 2 years. I finally got a little cash and the time to invest in it properly early 2007. took a couple hundred $ for basic tuneup supplies (battery, plugs, fluids, some wiring) and after getting it running, I really started building.

Snagged an Edelbrock 600 carb, a set of 35" Mud kings, and a 4" Rough Country suspension kit right off the bat. Lift was a pain in the ass hopping from shop to shop to work on it on the weekends, ended up replacing pads up front and pads and drums in the rear. In July I won the Ugly truck contest at the college I attend! Realizing just how bad it was, I bought a second "parts" truck for $100. Complete minus the motor, everything matches and had a fraction of the rust. Swapped out the cab, hood, Gov-lock rear end, rims. ONE BIG WIRING MESS. Ripped off the faulty driver side gas tank and the bed in the process. Did all this in my front yard.

around august I installed a performer intake, brake line extensions, new brake lines, offroad lights. September, ripped out the bench seat and put in buckets from a Jimmy. October paint job. My father in law built and installed the flatbed in December and the frame has been chopped right behind the leaf spring mounts.

Future plans include an Aussie locker up front and Powertrax No-slip in the rear which I have already bought. ORD shackle flip for the rear, some torque cam kit, shift kit, half doors.

Here's how I went from stock to rollin over imports...

Some stock pictures the day after I bought it

First thing was to replace a door, lift it, and throw some rubber under it. Caught a couple snags, snapped leaf I discovered during the lift and couldn't complete in that weekend.

Had to drive it around like this for a week.

The next weekend I was able to finish up the lift and switch the tires.

Thanks for the link to diy4x, thinking about getting a new bumper from them but got to save up some cash first. Let me know when you get some more done to your truck. and I forgot to mention last time I posted that I did use the blocks. Thanks again later

Great looking Chevy, 5 stars... looks ready for some major off roadin or maybe some car crunching mahem, so mean, what's next for it? I could not do that off-roadin' in my Dodge, it just would not do well, even with my few mods.
