This is my new truck that I bought for myself for christmas in 2007. It is a 97 K1500 Regular cab stepside bed with the famous 5.7L vortec engine and the almighty Z-71 suspension package.
What it's all about. Here's a couple pics from the first few days I had the truck.
When I bought the truck it had flat black nerf bars that looked like they were hanging down do to the body lift, so the first thing I did was get the bars color matched to the truck and raise them up to the body. It looks much better now. I had to go and try the 4 wheel drive out a little. Here's a few more pics of the exterior. After sitting around and looking at the exterior for awhile I decided to make a few changes. First I wetsanded, polished, and painted(Trim on turn signals) the turn signals and headlights. Then I painted the Bow-Tie, corner lens, and the center sections of the grill black. I didn't really like the black corner lens so I put in a set of clear reflectors. Heres some before and afters.
Then I decided to take of the silverado emblems on the cab and remove the pinstrip and the Chevrolet decal off of the tailgate. I also painted the tailgate handle because it was down to bare metal. Here's some more before and afters.
Updated: 3/17/08!!! I decided to go barless so I took off the step bars and the bed rails. I think it looks a lot smoother now.
Updated: 5/31/08- I finally got around to washing up the truck and throwing on a good coat of wax so heres some nice new pics.
I also got tired of all the black on the truck so I decided to color match the handles and the front valence. I still have to do the mirrors and the bow-tie. Let me know what you think.Page 1: Exterior
