Added more pics to the NEW Page 5

Purchased for $500
A 1972 Datsun 240Z. Here are a bunch of first batch photos of the car. In the first several pics I have already degreased the engine and put some wheels on from a salvage yard 280Z. The rotten rubber around the drivers door has already been removed and cleaned and oddly enough , the paint was still fresh underneath. No rust!!(so I thought) Wow. I do see some Rust however on one small spot on the front quarter panel, about the size of a tic tac now but it will still have to be dealt with. There is also a little rust on the rear deck jam. Rust also found above both door latches about 7" above hidden under weather stripping.

Update : I found the rust. It's been hiding in the gas tank growing like mad. Time to get the tank acid bathed.
Rebuilt brakes but rear wheel cylinders didnt hold and fluid was still leaking. The piston chambers are too corroded and new cylinders are on the way. I found sludge, crystalized coolant and a rotten t-stat that will have to be replaced. one of the t-stat housing bolts was seized and couldnt be extracted. New housing on the way...
The Drivers seat frame was snapped. And the front left bolt hole area for the seat bolts was busted. I will have to do a little welding to repair the area and I will also have to find some seats. Preferably from a 280ZX.
Tank has been treated by Pacific Radiator in Glendale, Ca.
New front calipers(painted Red)and rear brake wheel cylinders installed. Rear Drums were painted Black.
Repainting Steering Wheel frame to factory black. (was faded and flaking.

 Progress PicsSeanw987's 1972 Datsun 240Z

After watching my stepfather work with fiberglass for years growing up, I've found that I also have a knack for it. Not too shabby.

I Fixed the busted Seat bracket by welding a plate underneath the broken section.

I replaced all the Pedal Rubber Pads

Beautiful zeto bro, you have a nice JDM legend. I really like the paint too! Got any performance mods planned? That's a super capable chassis you can really crank up the power and it will take it like a champ! Thank you for supporting my Subaru Impreza WRX with 81 mods for SOTW with comments, stars, and votes! Much appreciation!

I decided on a Matte Black Paint job with Orange Accents. I just need the financial means to have it done. Times are tough.
