I am not sure what year this funny car body represents. I used to own a 1988 Trans Am that appears close enough so for the purpose of giving this car a year lets assume it a '88 model. All I know about this go cart is what I have heard. The story is that these go carts were available for purchase and through contests. The story about this particular car is that it was purchased in the 80's at Seattle International Raceway. There was supposedly some promotional gig going on at the time with Snake Racing. Anyway, this thing is relatively well preserved. The previous owner has added some stickers that were not originally on the cart body. If you happen to have one like this or any original photo's I would be interested in hearing from you. Enjoy!!

These two shots are at a local Pontiac car club show. The kids were 8 and 10 at the time and had a blast using a whole bottle of wax on the go cart that day. They were given a lot of attention as lots of people were curious about this little car. You should open up the file and zoom in on the little car show sign that the kids made for this. Cute!!

Here is the real car in action. This picture was found at the Don Prudhomme Snake Racing site.

There is some interesting read about Don Prudhomme also at this same site.

I just bought one of these carts off ebay. They were built by Bird Automotive in 1982-1983.I remember trying to win one in a department store drawing way back then. I have been a Snake fan since 1977 nd this car is one of my favorites next to his famous Army cars. For me it is the closest to the real Pepsi Challenger as I will ever get. My cart need some work to get it to show condition.I am cleaning up the frame and repanting it.I just got a new seat for it.I have to also freshen up the engine. No problem. I was tops in my class in high school two years in a row.Of course that was 26 years ago but you don't forget how to do it.I have to clean and polish the body and add the CAM 2 lettering on the back quarters and in front of the front wheels.I also need to find someone to make the 712 FC for the sides.Mine is missing them.I also have to replace the red stripes as someone apparently took them off and put a single wide red stripe down the sies. I have ordered back Good year and Crane Cams decals for it.My goal is to restore it as close to original as I can. I want to display it at local car shows and at certain nostalgia drag races.Wish me luck.

Scott: If you respond with an e-mail address I can send some pics. I can tell you which decals aren't original - all of the sponsor logos other than the Pepsi Challenger ones. ...

Hey Scott. I also own one of those Prudhomme go-karts. I'm in the process of restoring it.

There's another guy here in town who has one. Check out his video:
