This camaro is in teardown for restoration, which was purchased for a mere 300 dollars.
Restoration will be very thorough, depending on the rarity of the car.
After some research, it has been found out to be 1 of less than 200 of Luxury Touring-Type with a Rally Sport trim and package from the General Motors; Nan Nuys, Califronia production plant.
The rear differential code reveals a limited slip with a .373 gear.
(Which limited slip came on only 25% of all 1978 model camaros)
Also recently revealed is a factory hatch-type sunroof. (which is limited to less than 200 built )
Unfortunately,I purchased this one without an engine.
The plan is to swap-out the 400+hp goodwrench mexican crate 350 4 bolt main
out of my 1974 chevy c10, which is a "diamond in the rough" type motor in itself. With a cast number of 10066036 , for all you enthusiasts.(I encourage you to research yourself ) The swap will also create a weight difference of 2378lbs.
This is the car now
This is what the type-lt/rs paint scheme should look like :
Although I plan on staying
with the original rally wheels.
