The 2008 Cabby page......

New top and headliner are on and in!

What a raft of work. I ended up making my own side cables along with the headliner and new top padding. I'll see how good the padding is for heat soon - it works great for sound deadening and making the top look smooth. I'm planning to do more tops - if you're a Cabby owner here in MI or upper OH, let me know and I'll help out!

I've spent the summer accumulating parts for a rear disc brake upgrade. I've bought or borrowed enough parts to do this twice over, and still don't have enough working parts to do it! But all that is coming to a conclusion as I've built the axle up minus one caliper that needs to be repaired. I chose New Ford Blue for my gofastbits color - it looks good with the VW blue color that I'm using for interior accents. The Prothane bushings that I'm using for the rear axle mounts are awesome. I can't wait to drive the car with this new beam installed. I'd like to thank Mike over at www.parts4vws.com for all of his advise and assistance with this - whenever I've had a question I couldn't answer myself, Mike has been my go-to guy.

I have just come across your blog and would like to congratulate you on a job well done. The reason for the email is I have recently started a company with a friend of mine Gary Lucy (star of the bill and footballers wives) not sure if you know who he is so heres a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Lucy Anyway I was just wondering if you would mind creating a blog about us http://www.vehicletext.com as I see you are keen on cars. The site is the first site in the world (that Im aware of) that gives you the opportunity to sell/advertise a car via sms and mms vehicles for a one off fee of 10. I feel that this would be an invaluable way of us getting traffic and more importantly reading of any feedback that people might post in regards to improving the service. We are hoping to create the best service possble for car sellers and buyers and feel that great bloggers are a sure fire way to do this. In the current climate advertising a car can be very expensive and time consuming so are hoping to build a company to offer a great service at a reasonable price. Please do get back to me with your thoughts Kindest regards, Kieran Cassidy Company Director VehicleText Ltd.
