Just bought the truck, and its a project. The first pic is a photo-shop of what i wanna do for paint. Still have to fix the dent on the bed and the cab needs paint...then on with the fun stuff.
It would already be a cold air intake (actually colder air as well as more forced air) comming from the front of the truck in its original location. The air cleaner matty roades has is the cheapest and best preforming thing you can do. I actually have the same air cleaner only mine is much taller (six inches compared to 3). I used to have it on a bronco v8 but it will easily fit the dakota throttle body. By the way ordered new carpet today from ebay (106.00) that will help my interior alot.
You guys do know that its just a K/N air filter right? When you talk about intakes most techs will assume you mean the intake manifold under the air filter. There are Air intake kits with the tube going to the the throttle body neck but I doubt they would give you any more increase in power or g/m than just the K/N air filter. Not to mention you will have to change it back to stock come inspection time in PA so the filter is a great way to go. I run them in all my vehicles.
Thanks man, dude I think that intake is awsome...And u can tell a performance increase at mid rpms and higher. it blows the old intake out the water. And thats all K&N has for our truck....as far as i know. my buddy got the K&N cold air intake for his s-10 and there like exactly the same, mine even sounds cooler. lol

heck your truck is pretty sharp the way it is other than the bedside,i like your seats there 60/40 and looks like the same material as mine.
