*--Cars mean love--*
I was driving home in my mom's Toyota Camery, speeding like my normal self. I always kept my windows down when I drove. The feel of wind rushing against my face was my drug. I would always give that 1996 Toyota Camery a pedal to the floor, for The speed around a corner always thrilled me.
As I was driving home on a famous speeding street called 13th street, the engine light turned on. Like a on call surgeon I came across a gas station and started to examine my patient. I opened the hood of the Toyota and looked at what could be a possibe problem. Oil pressure was fine, and it wasn't leaking anything, that was a good sign. I sat in the car and called my parents trying to find a reason why my mom's car had broken down.
My dad came and picked me up at the Seven Eleven in a Toyota Sienna. He took a look at the car, and said that the transmission was bust. I felt somehow responsible, as If my driving had caused all of the problems. I told my dad I was sorry and he said it wasn't my fault. In fact he said "I have a suprise for you". At this time I was 17, 1/2. I had gotten my lisence for freedom at the age of 16. You see my dad had been away for a week down in Texas for what he claimed had been a Conference.
*--Love at First Sight--*
I went to my friends house that day. We were playing Mario Kart 64, and I was beating his ass drifing the turns with Yoshi. At around the time of four o' clock my dad came to pick me up. I asked why I was leaving early and he responded because I didn't clean my room. So we drove 2 miles toward my house, We slowly approached that street that I had driven past so many times during the days and nights.
Like most students in high school, or teenagers, I didn't have enough money for a car, nor would I have until I was past college. It was then when we drove up the long wide driveway. Then like a miner who spots gold in a bunch of rocks, like a cat who looks through the treasure of trash for his fish, and like a boy looking for his favorite toy, I saw a gleaming yellow figure with four gloss black wheels. The antenna was sticking out about a foot in the air. The rims where a pure silver bullet 15 inches ment to kill werewolves. Crystal Clear headlights like a mountain tops glitering hat. Like a star on top of a christmas tree the car sparkled a shine as bright as the north star. A yellow frame of elegance

Quickly followed by my desire to drive, was the drive for learning how to drive a stick. Lets just say I shortened the life of the clutch by 80%. For some reason I couldn't get use to the torque of first gear. In other words, I would always launch the car haha. So long story short, first gear was a bitch that still wanted to get your money. Anyway soon I learned how to drive the mother fucker on a hill too. As my driving ability increased, so did my desire to modify. I was yearning for a moneky wrench, and a 10mm socket. I wanted to drift. Near my high school there was a empty parking lot that no one cared about. So me and a bunch of buddies in the rx7, rsx, my lancer, and a 240sx headed up to the spot. We got some cones and setup our own little park that we would go to almost every friday after school. All was well.....but then....

Doing this drifing practice for about a week now, we learned the tricks of the trade. The cost of the tires, and its issues with the E-brake. The E-brake was starting to become loose, and the tires were loosing grip. I could now slide even further with most traction gone. I would turn and accelerate hard when school was out. Now, practically my car would oversteer. Of course my car couldn't drift, it was a front wheel drive. But to powerslide with the e-brake hart pounding, hand sweating, and G-force on the body was an addicting drug to me. All was well, until one day we saw an old lady with her child. I took a closer look and realized it was my old high school bus driver! I hated that women for many times over. She was the anti-christ in a desiguised form, full of tricks up her sleeve. I told my friends lets go to a parking lot adjacent from here. The total distance was about 200 yards or so. We were continuing our car games for another 20 minuets or so, until as i was pulling in out of my last turn i powerslided right into a face to face bumper of a police car. So basically I sled out of my turn and as I was going forward a cop turned into the parking lot, we were face to face. My heart stoped. I had never been in trouble with the law before. Speeding wasn't a problem for me, and neither were accidents so I had no problems with cops before. Till now. The cop pointed me toward my friend who was recording me on camera at the time. I slowly drove over to my friend, and he looked calm. I however looked like I had seen the devil. He parked behind me and soon two more police cars followed. The officer who stood out of the vehicle behind me was about 5'8, and was in a dark green uniform. He was bald and had sunglasses on, and was wearing black boots. He had a tattoo on his left arm of a cross and skull. He approached me and then demaned in a high squeaky voice for my license and registration. I almost felt like laughing at the mans voice. His voice was not at all in proper steriotype of what a tough police officer would sound like. I handed him the papers almost proudly, as I lost my fear at the scene. I felt like they had nothing to prove and nothing but a mean tone agaisnt me. Sure enough after checking my record and finding that I was clean he approached my window and said a witness heard racing. My bus driver! i thought. He continued in a high demanding voice that what I was doing was a racing type turn and is illegal. He asked where I saw it performed, and I responded I saw Fast and Furious! I wasn't turnin in a race like mood officer! I said I clearly don't have the qualifications or jurisdiction to pull manovers like that. Its also dangerous I spat. He looked at me and said well I know faces when I see them, and the next time I see you turning like you did trying to leave here its a wreckless driving ticket. He walked back to his car, starred at our tire marks on the ground and sat back in his car and drove off. I starred at the glow of the red an blue lights, two colors that I had never been scared of before in my life, until today. From that moment everytime i see a cop, i cringe.
