-PERFORMANCE-

Intake/Exhaust:

(JLT Ram Air Intake)-

This intake is the most used by Cobra users. On top of that it comes with a huge S&B Air Filter, the kind I've used on all of my Mustangs so far because of the gains I've gotten.

(90mm MAF)-

This was something I needed because my old one broke and I found this one at a good price. From what I hear its more accurate than the stock one and adds 5-7 rwhp on a DOHC 4.6. It improved my throttle response and the calibration needed is available with the Special Forces Tuner.

(JBA Headers)-

I chose these because of their 1 5/8 size. Longtube headers have a tendency to scrape and dent, especially with lowered cars. Some longtubes make it difficult to work on the transmission. Having shorties allows you to access the transmission much easier than longtubes. As far as power, most shorties make little to no horsepower on our cars but that isn't the case with JBA. Paul's High Performance got 9.2 rwhp and 10.9 rwtq on their dyno!

(Offroad X-Pipe)-

I chose a 2.5" x-pipe for the sound and top end horsepower it provides. An h-pipe can produce a little more torque down low but becomes obsolete after a certain rpm. An x-pipe combines the exhaust flow from both headers throughout the entire rpm range, this creates a vacuum effect to help the exhaust gases escape faster.

(Flowmaster Catback)-

Flowmaster has been one of the most reputable muffler companies for quite some time now. While there are exhaust systems that produce more power, the gains are very minimal for the price. I bought the American Thunder catback with Super 40 mufflers for sound and price. It's a 2.5" aluminized system with 3" tips. While stainless steel is more desirable, an aluminized system will last a long time in most cases. 3" systems are available but the 2.5" diameter matches the size of the x-pipe. This makes sure there's no abrupt changes in exhaust flow and minimizes drone. Most mufflers use packing material to keep noise levels down. Over time this packing can degrade and cause the sound of your exhaust to change. Flowmaster mufflers use no packing so your exhaust sound will stay consistent. They utilize metal chambers which produce a nice 'bubbly' sound.

(Special Forces Tuner)

The Special Forces Tuner by Delta Force Tuning is relatively new but it doesn't lack any feature. The company is owned by Patrick and Chris Stajdel. Patrick previously worked for Diablosport, Hypertech, and Superchips. It connects to a laptop or desktop to display drop-down menus with different selections. You can adjust a wide range of things much like any handheld tuner but the main advantage is its ease of use. It is also one of the fastest programming tuners on the market. Unlike other companies you don't need to buy another tuner if you have another vehicle. It tunes two cars an unlimited amount of times. If that isn't enough they sell 'bullets' which allow the interface to tune more vehicles. Its great not having to pay someone to make a tune everytime you get a part! When you get something new such as gears or injectors you can adjust the tune accordingly. For more info go to www.deltaforcetuning.com
