2006 Roush Stage 2 Ford Mustang - Vista Blue - One of 456
Roush Stage 2 production numbers for 2006 ... 456 total, 55 were Vista Blue with manual transmissions. (http://www.fnsweet.com/about/index2.shtml)
Original sticker price was $43,238. (Purchased copy of Roush build sheet from Roush). It sat at the Mall of Georgia Ford dealership near Atlanta for about 10 months and when sold it had 50 miles on it. (Carfax info)
Purchased 12/2007 in Perry, Georgia from Wayne Morris Ford with only 7,400 miles on it.

The previous owner decided to remove the Roush windshield sticker and add the grille insert and the hood scoop and did a very poor job of installing them.

Also have a 2005 Yamaha YZF-R1 which is a very similiar blue color. Bought the R1 new 3/2005 and have averaged over 8,000 miles a year. Have driven the Roush about 6,000 miles in the first year.
Comparison between the stock R1 and GT:
Vehicle Disp HP at RPM Weight 0 to 60 Top Speed 1/4 mile et at mph mpg
2005 YZF-R1 998 cc 180 at 12,500 426(wet) 3.0 sec 184 mph 9.92 sec at 149 36
2006 Mustang GT 4.6 l 300 at 5,750 3488 5.2 sec 149 mph 13.85 sec at 102 17/25

It's amazing how many people don't realize the acceleration and speed capabilty of a bike. Almost every ride I go on someone wants to race. Seriously? Think again. The R1 will get to 60 mph and stop before most cars get to 60.

Installed engine covers from Midwest AutoGear: fuse box, strut towers, fuel rails, and plenum covers. A bit of a hassle to align the fuels rails and plenum cover to get the screws started. Some swearing was involved(http://www.midwestautogear.com/).

Installed mirror cap covers and shorty antenna from Mustangs Unlimited(http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=MC1L+01 and http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=D5160+01).

Put Roush 3rd brake decal on. Found it on eBay for a good price. A bit tricky to put on as you only get one shot at it and it's not easy to align as there's no room for error since it's cut to the exact dimensions of the cover.

Installed Roush trunk tool kit. All the tools have ROUSH on them and the quality of the tools seems very good. What a great idea the trunk tool kit was. No longer listed on the Roush parts page.

Installed Roush short throw shifter assembly with Roush billet shifting bar and black retro ball(http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=472 and http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=791 and http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=792). Installation instructions from Roush were very detailed making installation easy, even for me. Ordered both the black and white top, prefer the look of the Roush white retro ball for now. I'm very impressed with the Ford Shaker 500 stereo system, AM/FM 6 CD changer, mp3 player, 500 Watts and 8 speakers. Could have over 60 of my CD's available at any time when in mp3 format.

***
Installed MRT hood shocks(http://mrt-direct.com/v3/Styling%202005+/Exterior%20Styling%202005+.php). No more having to use the stock hood prop to keep the hood up.

***
Installed OEM GT grille as previous owner didn't install aftermarket grille correctly and ruined the original grille by 'cutting' the lights out. At least they didn't cut the wiring harnesses. Prefer the look of the stock GT grille to most of the after market versions.

Used the Dupli-Color brake caliper paint, not the spray on, to paint all the brake calipers satin black. Wanted to do them blue or red, but I was scared the red or blue colors would be off and look bad.

Installed sequential taillight kit made by Classic Design Concepts (CDC) ordered from Mustangs Unlimited(http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=DA74+01). In a total of about 20 minutes I have added a very cool look (when signaling and braking) to the Roush. Highly recommended. * * See video of turn signal if interested * * http://video.cardomain.com/clip.aspx?key=49D0781EE1BB8745

Installed slotted, cross-drilled brake rotors from Brake Planet(http://www.brakeplanet.com/). After several hours of sweating and lots of swearing the rotors were on. Front caliper bolts took some effort to break loose. Rear rotors needed some 'hammering' to free them as they were already partially rusted on. Must have good 15 mm shallow socket and extra long rachet for needed leverage. The front is on the left, the rear on the right.

The blue Roush windshield banner...finally. What a nightmare to put on. Whoever has to do this at Roush is underpaid.

I would love to own a supercharged Mustang...like a 427R or a 428R or a 429R or a Stage 3 or a P-51A or B or a Black Jack or a GT500 or a GT500KR or a GT500 Super Snake...someday...maybe...right...in my dreams.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my Roush. Drive carefully. Please look twice for motorcycles.

PLEASE ... be kind to animals. My wonderful cat, cHaOs, passed away 1/11/09 after being my best friend for over 15 years. If you have a pet, please pet them for me and do something special for them. I love you and miss you boy.
