My wife and I purchased this little jewel in June of 2007. We had been looking for a Dunebuggy for about 3 months. This one popped up "literally" when I was surfing ads for vee dubs. I almost shut down the computer and hit the scroll wheel on my mouse. It popped up! A month later it was in our garage with our name on the title. It needed very little TLC. I rebuilt the front suspension over the next month as well as front brakes. Purchased a little cosmetics for the motor. Just a few niceties!
We spent every available night and weekend cruising around Michigan. It is hibernating till spring. Our plans are to redo the body and subframe with help from Berrien Buggy of Berrien Springs Michigan and Don's Sport Vehicles of Detroit.

The motor is a 36hp 1200cc all original inside!
transaxle is original as well. We are planning on keeping the drivetrain as origial as possible. I may purchase a new motor and store the old one intact. Not sure yet.

your VW is looking good, mean and ready for some major off-roadin or maybe some car crunching mahem. There is so much that can be done to them. What's next on the to do list for it? I have a Dodge, it has a few mods. I Don't think it would do very well off road, not like your ride.
