Time to install the engine. It took about an hour to get it in and another hour to line everything up. My wife helped by running the cherry-picker. After all that work, her statement was 'I sure hope it starts!' Yes, I definitely don't want to take it back out.

I used a dummy block and heads to measure and line everything up, but things were off by about an inch (further back) than I had planned for, and with all the doodads on the complete engine, we literally shoe-horned it in there (had to remove the starter!). It's a very tight fit.

I have an aftermarket A/C unit (Hot Rod Air) that I planned to use but it looks like there's no room for the lines behind the engine and no where else to run them. We may just have a hot car (hopefully in more ways than one!).  But it looks like we will have A/C!  We will have heat - things are pretty close where the fan motor goes but it did fit.  The heater hoses will go around the fan motor.

As I'm hooking up all the wiring and plumbing, things are really getting tight in there!

The engine sits way back to leave room for the radiator, electric fan, and the Vortec blower!  And yes the factory flat hood does fit, with about 1/2" to spare.

Greg, the car and the work you have done is excellent. Actually it's inspired me to try to put a 4.6 in my 66 Vert.
