This is my 1993 sidekick, which blew a head gasket at 209000 km. I had to options at this point, strip and scrap, or rebuild and mud. $100 later this is the monster that can cross the Grand River in Brantford Ontario in 3 places. The original price was $400 for this car. I've goten my money out of this car, so now it gets beaten to its death. Here's some before pics my friends had of the sidekick. The after pics look so much more gruesome.

Before all the dents scrapes and tree marks. Also the back roof is not cracked and the pretty rims are on still.

This picture shows the lack of snorkel, off road lights and shows all lights still intact.

I spent $30 on the headgasket and Loctite to rebuild the engine. I got a 1.3 Turbo, head and cam off a Swift from a buddy and the rims free of charge. I bought $40 worth of spring spacers for a 2/2.25" lift, and picked up the 31's at the wrecking yard i was working at for $30. The snorkel I made from recycled 4"PVC pipe and duct tape with 3 leg stocking filters down the legnth of the snorkel for filtering. This section then 90's into the stock intake. For exhaust the manifold is held on by 2 nuts to keep the mudd from getting in the head. With these little mods I've made it through 3 feet of water no problem. This truck doesnt flaw until the ECM gets wet then it wont run. The second computer I put in it i got for a five finger discount, but they are worth $300 so dont get urs wet it sux. On the plus side, as soon as u change the ecm the sidekick started right bac up! :)

I am sad to report that the sidekick has finally met it's demise. I was testing it for the spring mud runs when i got stuck in about 2.5 feet of water and broke the differential. Also the truck stopped running and to date will not idle. So i bought a new 1 ,check it out it's a tracker.

your Sidekick is looking good, mean and ready for some major off-roadin or maybe some car crunching mahem. There is so much that can be done to them. What's next on the to do list for it? I have a Dodge, it has a few mods. I Don't think it would do very well off road, not like your ride.

Nice submarine man! Now that's how you beat something to death. Slowly, with impressive displays of ridiculous behaviour! Awesome! Count me in when the weather is warmer. Lots warmer.
