There it is. My Type-R's new home. 30.25x18.5x17 slot ported box. Tuned to 22 hz. 3/4 MDF constructed. She finally hits like a good 15 should.

The system has been replaced due to blown Kenwoods and a fried Pyramid amp. Bought a 15 inch Type-R. 750 rms 2000 peak. Sony Xplod 1000 watt (300 watt RMS) to tide me over until I can order my Sundown amp. Got two Audiocontrol 2XS Line Driver/Crossovers. One is hooked up the other is waiting for a speaker amp and the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1s I plan on getting.

First post in a while. Debadged it today. Got some new old subs. 2 Kenwood KFC-3002W. They were in a sealed Qlogic box but I got ahold of a Bandpass off one of my buddies. Put in Clarion 6x9s in the rear deck in place of the stocks. Much clearer.

Got rear ended after school yesterday. Cars ok though. Two small scratches where I caught the license plate of a Neon.

Painted the box inside flat black last weekend. It looks much cleaner not so flashy. Looks good against the aluminum on the subs.

The inside of the box isnt that bright the mirrors inside mess with the camera. I also need to shoot a new coat of paint.

Sign or whatever works for you.

Haven't posted in awhile cause nothings been done. I rewired my sytem for the umteenth time and put my cap in. Its a lot better than before. I recommend it to anyone. Brings the bass up it doesnt cut out on the higher power anymore. MORE BASS! Put in 4 gauge ground wire. I had some 8 gauge there before holding power back. The page is getting a little wordy so I'm only going to post on mods and such.

Comment and such. You know the drill.

I've got some issues with my system. Any help would be appreciated. When its sitting in the garage with the motor off I can turn it up and run it there forever and nothing will happen. Now if I do the same while the car is running going down the road it will shut off. Now I have no idea what to do. I can get a new amp but I don't want to if its not the problem.

Tuner tube removed on Wednesday. Its a little boost. So I've learned my lesson with my subs always check to make sure you get the right wiring diagram for your amp and subs. About a 2 weeks ago my subs stopped working and i come to find out that my wiring is effed up in the sub box. So i rewired it to 4 ohms and it works great that I'm not overloading the amp. Still haven't got the cap in yet but it'll be a tomorrow project. I have an intake lined up I just have to piece it together and put it in. I'll post pics and such.

Feel free to sign my guest book, comment, and rate my car.

So I got my subs about a week ago and they're awesome. The subs themselves are the Audiobahns mentioned before. They are 300w a piece. The amp is a Pyramid PB1010GX. I hate the purple less the more i see it and its also wedged between the box and the seat so its not visible. I have a Scosche capacitor that I'm putting in this weekend I'm not sure if I need it but ya.......

So I got the knobs done the same night that I last posted. They look pretty cool. I was thinking about painting the backs blue to match the head unit but I decided to leave them full clear because there's no real good way to do it that keeps the knobs clear and still allows them to glow blue at night besides changing the bulb in the back of the climate control panel and that can cause the displays the become hard to read at night. They glow a tad yellow due to the light diffusor but I can deal with it.

The picture is a little sub-par because I took it on my cell phone, but you get the idea.

The overall procedure isn't too difficult. You just have to be careful and take your time to not tear the rubber if you plan to keep them like I do.

February 04, 2008

I'm going to remove the rubber covers on the climate control knobs to make them clear and I'll make an attempt of getting a tutorial for that ASAP. Maybe.

New head unit. Pioneer DEH-P3900MP. 200 watts over 4 speakers. It makes the 6x9s work pretty hard. Much better sound quality than the stocker even on the stock speakers. Came with a little remote have really found a use for it yet but cool none the less. I gave up on getting a sub system for now. Its just not a feasible upgrade. I'd rather have the intake and exhaust. Too much weight anyways.

Painted the Brakes red and replaced the front discs shortly after getting new wheels. I couldn't stand the rust look. They're a little dirty in these pics. It sucks trying to keep a clean car in Ohio in the winter. I'm just going to give the steels a new coat of paint and throw them back on for next winter to save my wheels from the nice coating of salt dust my car gets from the roads.

This is my 99 Sunfire SE. There's not much to it right now. I got the car in July. The wheels were put on about two weeks ago. They are 17" Riax Seca wheels wrapped with Kumho Ecsta ASX tires.

Motor

2200 SFI. This motor seems to be a rare sight on these pages. Plan to paint the head cover red to match the brakes. Now its kind of a half shined aluminum because we shot it off with brake cleaner when I got it due to the head gasket leak had covered it in oil. It got shined up with some Mothers polish but I want a cleaner look.

The car is an automatic. It's not that I'd rather have one but manuals aren't fun for five minute trips across town which is what it seems is all I do. The car is my daily driver.

Some Carbon Fiber

Performance Plans
AEM Cold Air Intake

B&M Shift Kit or Autotrans Interceptor
Boosted 3400 V6 (if the 2.2 becomes more trouble than its worth to fix)
