I wanted to retain as much of the original car as possible so stubbing the front end was out. I sent out the rotors to be drilled for 5 lug wheels so i could run the same 14" wheels front and rear. In the mean time i decided i wanted to have a lower stance for the car. I bought a new set of V-6 springs and carefully cut them with a wizzer wheel a quarter coil at a time till i got the car down where i wanted it(no rust or crud left on the front end threads)It was a slow process but i got what i wanted, in the weeds!
While all of this was going on i was prepping engine parts and anything else i could afford to do. The exhast manifolds were not my first choice but i had heard nothin good about the 2pc headers. I ran into interference between the rocker covers and the manifolds, so i got out the die grinder and removed the problems. Having gone this far i smoothed out the rest of the outside and also port matched them to the heads.More on this later!
