1973 PORSCHE 911T 2.4
This was the first of the 911 in the family. The car was in Concourse condition and won the 1982 De Eta. It was a viper green monster. The car was completely restored by the previous owner. The engine was rebuilt with 2.7 Carrera Pistons and sleeves pushing out in excess of 190 Hp. The car was fitted with 6 and 7 " cookie cutter wheels. This car was in my possession for about a year (1984) when we decided to sell and the main reason for this was that it was Left hand drive and in South Africa that was a problem and for a brief spell we were Porsche-less (1985-1995)

The Driving impressions of the 911T
Here are some of my impressions with regards to driveability You must keep in mind that the older cars should not be compared to the technology available today .

Performance :
This 73 was a superb car. It was modified to the extend where it was fitted with 2.7 sleeves and pistons. Man what a car. It used to give the 535 BMW?s headaches on the road. This car was quick of the mark and had a top speed at least 140 MPH (225 KMH) It had a five speed gearbox and the shift was perfect.
Handling :
The 911 was good in this category. This car had widened rims a full 6? in front and 7? at the rear. This changed the cars looks entirely and the rims filled the wheel arch gaps better. This car handled superb. This car could handle and the reason was the wider wheels.
Braking ability :
The braking ability of this car was good no mater what the conditions.
Overall:
We never undertook long trips in this car but overall it was a likable car. The down side was that it was left hand drive and in South Africa that is not so nice. This for me spoiled the car.
