This is my 1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7, It has a rebuilt 351W with an offenhouser intake manifold, headman shorty headers, a mild cam, and a Holley 4bbl. It has a Rebuilt C4 automatic Transmission and 3.00 rear gears, hopefully soon to be 3.73's. The cars was Painted by Ramsey's and sons of Stillwater,OK, and looks great, the color's called Black Cherry. The car originally came with a J code 302, or a 4bbl 302, but this engine was pulled due to mechanical reasons, I still have the 302, but for now its been replaced with the 351. The interior has the "deluxe package" which is just a little bit better interior than what most standard XR-7s received. The seats have been reupholstered, and I have installed a newer stereo with a Kenwood head unit and Diamond audio Speakers, future interior improvements include new carpet and rebuilding the A/C box. Most recently I rebuilt the doors, the windows now crank and the locks work as they should. The power steering has been rebuilt, and the brakes have been rebuilt. The next step for this car will be suspension, I am looking at new upper and lower control arms by global west suspension, and i have a set of stiffer lowering springs for up front, It also has all new KYB gas shocks in it too.
