this is the 5mge that was given to me for this car. as you can see it is really dirty. i bought a ful gasket kit, new timing belt, crank pulley bolt, ngk platinum spark plugs and misc hoses etc... for it. im pulling the head, changing the valve stem seals and lapping the valves and putting a new head gasket on even though it isnt currently blown. changing all seals and manifold gaskets. going to paint the intake and valve covers low gloss black and clean everything like crazy. hen the old engine comes out im going to clean the whole engine bay and change al the seals on the auto transmission and change the filter as well. ill post pics as progress is made. once i get my tax return though i may buy a full 1uz setup from the junkyard with all sensors, harness, ecu, trans, trans harness and ecu etc.. to swap in. already have the engine mounts but the wring will take a long time and this 5m was free so going to get the car running so it can be driven until the v8 swap is ready. so far cleaned and painted the block, pulled the engine and trans from the car itself and rebuilt the head. having trouble getting all the old hydraulic lash adjusters out. they were worn too much so replacing those, the rockers and cams with the ones from the origonal engine. also cleaned the engine bay up ALOT. though i forgot to get a before shot of the emty bay before cleaning. update: this engine turned out to be more worn then previously thought. now building rebuilding a 6mge instead.
