2-8-08 Just got parts of my system installed. Kinda starting out a little light because I don't have much time to tend to it or even shop for goodies, but it's something right now and it's not bad at all.
4awg power and ground wire to the amp. Rockford Punch 300.1 Courtesy of Ultimate Electronics.

And here it is as it sits under my passenger seat.

This is the P3 Rockford Punch Shallow subwoofer. It sounds nice, nothing like what I had in my old truck but it's gong to go far. Box is custom built by Ultimate Electronics. I would have done it myself but I work long hours and have no time or energy to get it done on my own.

This is the sub from another angle.

With the seat laid down, the sub doesn't rub against anything. The box barely comes forward from the edge of the rear seat.

I had enough time to put the door speakers in, but just the front. I did the install on my own, didn't take but a few minutes to do. The grill for the speaker snaps right off.

Here's what you see when the plastic is removed. There are 4 screws holding the speaker in place. It's a 5x7 full range. You will need a 5.5mm socket to remove the screws.

When you take the speaker off you will see a clip. Lots of car manufacturers use specifically designed clips so that way "stupid" people will spend a bundle replacing their stock speakers thinking they have to have special stuff for the replacement.

I decided to use butt-connectors because I figured I would never use that clip again. Also I wouldn't want the clip to rattle around in the door. It's annoying (learned the hard way). You can also use quick-splice connectors if you decide to keep the clip.

Here's the 3-way 6x8 Pioneer Coaxial speaker I put in. It can't compare at all to the stock speaker in terms of bass because of the stiffness of the surround and spider, but with the tweeter and high-midrange built in, it really adds to the crispness of the audio. I'm going components soon and a new head unit. Better tuning.

When all is said and done, it's all stock at first glance. Looks good, sounds great.
