10-27-2008 So I finally upgraded a bit of my sound system, not quite how I wanted to ultimately make it, but right now it sounds much better on the low end, and it looks better. There are two 12" Rockford Shallow subs, dual 4ohm voice coils. I'm still running the same Punch 300.1 amp, so I had to wire only one voice coil per sub, and wire the voice coils in parallel to make a 2ohm load to run as much power from the amp as possible. Until I can get a small sub amp that can run 1ohm stable, this will have to do. The box started as a basic set-in design, something to fit nearly entirely under the seats. After that was established, the spaces were carefully calculated and made for the subs. After the sides were sealed off, I still had that notch to close off and much rather than to fight getting screws to hold MDF in place and loads of wood glue to seal the holes, I just fiberglasses it shut. This gave me more unaltered fitting room as well as a firm airtight seal on that tight spot. After that, the subs were wired in the box, installed, and the box was put in place. It was a tight fit, but that's the best I could get it with two 12" subs firing up towards the seat in a 5/8" MDF enclosure. The box is rather small in internal air volume for the subs so I'm expecting these to blow fairly quick. I believe it's about 1.45 cubic inches of air space, and that's WITHOUT the subs. I lost the low end between 25 to 40 hz, but I gained from about 50 to 120 hz. I chose gray camo fabric because one of my buddies who works at a shop wouldn't pick up his phone so I could go to his shop (that I forgot where it was at) and buy some gray carpet, and no other shop would sell me some so I went to Walmart and this was the closest thing to solid gray they had, I'm glad I got this stuff thoguh. So now, I just hope I can correctly upload these pictures...

sick box dude. fyi you cant only wire one voice coil per sub. it will throw the motor structure on the speaker lopsided. your better off wiring one sub in parralell and dont hook the other sub up at all and use it as a radiator.
