Hi there guys my name is Troy and this is my 1977 Amc Matador Barcelona Coupe named Taz. My first car was a 1974 Matador coupe that I bought when I was in high school in 1986 anyway in 2006 I found Taz for sale at a classic car dealership. I traded my 1958 Plymouth Savoy 4 door sedan that I had owned for 6 years for Taz.

He was born in the Kanosha AMC plant in the usa. When I decoded the V.I.N. # I was hoping that he was built in Brampton,Ont because I was born and lived here all my life and I still remembre when AMC eagles were coming out of the Brampton plant. I was in high school then and my school was right across the street from the plant.
He is powered by the AMC 360 V8 with a 3 speed tranny and a 2 barrel carb. He has power steering and brakes,factory AM/FM 8 track,roll down rear windows (witch I found out only this year that they were a option. I have seen a couple of matador coupes that the rear windows dont roll down), rear window defroster, and air condioning (not working)
He was repainted 12 years ago the original colour which is golden ginger poly. He is fitted with a brown vinyl top.
His interior must have been a custom order although Taz is a Barcelona I he has the Barcelona II interior. The interior is all original the rear seats are in like new condition as well as the front passenger seat but the drivers seat is pretty worn and drying out. The headliner is a BarcelonaI headliner is in new condition.
The wheels he came with were the AMC turbine rims that have the rubber fins on them with the centre caps. I know that these wheels are rare but I personally dont like the look of them so I swiched them to 77 chrysler cordoba rallys that are exactly the same wheel as the Barcelona II standard rims. I painted the centers body colour and changed the chrysler caps to the AMC caps from the rubber rims.Then I added solid white lettering tires up dated photos will come soon.
These are the rims I would really like to put on him but I am having trouble finding them in Canada
