All three together!
After a series of Cars, Children, Station wagons, and Vans, I decided to go back to the fundamentals! I always missed the old Bugeye Sprite that we owned in the late 60's.
Mods--
FMII 4 injector intercooled SBB Turbo with "Piggy" computer. R-Speed "Spitfire" Coil Over Ignition. FM Radiator, Turbo Midpipe and Muffler. ANSI custom Tip. Max Clutch & Pressure Plate. 5th Gear mod to reduce Engine RPM by ~500 at 65-70 Mph. ~180 rear wheel hp for daily use, and ~220+ with electronic boost control enabled. Speedometer "Calibrated" to within 1-1/2 mile (reads over, never under)at common speed limits. Interior footwell lighting kit connected to "extra" unused terminal on standard dome light switch- allows operation with dome light. Hood struts from R-Speed. KatSkin Seats. Rota Wheels and Toyo tires from R-Speed.
Intake piping from FM and CB was cleaned up and de-burred. ("T" joints") Intake manifold inner passages were smoothed and rough edges removed. SBB Turbo was supplied without tap for pressure port, so the unused turbo boss was drilled and tapped. Exhaust manifold underside was drilled and tapped for the EGT sensor.
West Tach A/F & EGT Gauge, Boost Gauge, and a Custom Knock Sensor Readout were mounted in the center console using a handmade mounting plate ~1/4 inch thick. The Passenger Air Bag switch was relocated to the Glove compartment. Light added to Ashtray.
Dynomat and other insulation added to trunk, interior, doors, and "tunnels". Trunk Light added. Factory Trunk Spoiler added to cover scratch and thin paint spot on trunk lid. (Avoided trunk lid repaint) Trunk liner cut to provide extra storage in passenger side "tunnel".
Strip results were from Silver Dollar Raceway--First time on a dragstrip in over 30 years! Wheel spin and hop through first two gears! The 60 time listed is 60'. A stock Camaro in the other lane got a bit of a suprise! If I did this more often, I would expect the time to drop to about 13.6 or so, based upon developed HP, and controlling wheel spin.
Forgive the mess -- Things are still under construction!
