Tha country boy's tuner!
Hello, & Welcome to my Pinto page! Don't ask why, but since I was a kid I have loved panels & wagons. Especially the little pinto's. I joked growing up about one day having a pinto station wagon w/mud grips & dear horns on the hood..lol.. well I now have one.. While I may have left the mud grips & deer horns idea alone,. I am however doing a full retro rod restoration with it,
I opted against doing the V8 mod. As I want an american built 4cyl. car that will give any street import/ricer & run for the money! & I'm gunna do it with a wagon..lol
Please check back often, as I will try to update my page as work progesses.
Thanks again for stoping by, I hope you enjoy the page.
please vote on the polls, ratings & let me know what ya think!

update! 12-20-08
I am putting the final coat of primer on this week, & I added poll below for my color choices..please take the time to vote & help me pick a color. keep in mind, she will be getting some nice graphics, on the hood, & sides. when I have picked my choices for thre graphics I will post pictures & a poll for that as well..
I also picked up a 88 2.3turbo motor & t5 trans this week & I will continue to gather up parts for the swap. the turbo motor & t5 will go in as soon as the body & paint work are done.
-----------------------
Restoration begin in the winter of 07..
The car has under gone an awesome restoration thus far & is about 70% complete!!
Will be finishing up the interior this winter, & paint by spring.
---------------------------------

This is what I started with, car is a
Factory ordered 1979 pinto cruisin wagon w/rally package,.
2.3 4 spd car, with factory tach, sport interior etc .. Car was purchased in april of 07 & was a 58,000 original milage car
---------------------------------------------------------------

First off, the original motor was pulled out, & a we installed a late model 2.3 from a 1990 mustang..
block & bottom end was taken to .30 over, stroker crank & rods, Balanced & put back together with the best qualityNew parts from esslinger,. The Head, is a shaved, ported, polished D port, complete roller,. with big valves both intake & exhaust, 3 angle racing valve job. double valve spring, as well as a custom made 500 lift cam.. . & it too was put back together with the best quality brand new parts from esslinger.
The man you see torqing the head bolts, is my father,
he is a 35 year ASE certified Auto mechanic & race car/engine builder. we have won over 20 yearly Points Champoinships on the local dirt tracks since the late 70's. & well into the 100's of races. in 6cyl. super 6, 4cyl, and rookie classes. we have also restored numerous show cars which have been seen on the tv show rides, & numerous magizines world wide.
I topped the head off with a new chrome tuned esslinger header, new esslinger aluminum intake, new holley 550 carb. Custom restored aluminum valve cover, ford racing oil cap, new K&N airfilter, new accel cap & wire set, custom CNC cut wing nut & matching radiator cap. new battery, new power steering pump, new alternator, all new belts & hoses, new timing cover,
new battery cable, ext. everything NEW! Pictures show a black pace setter for mack up, but the esslinger was used for install. as the pacesetter wound't fit.
car has 2.5 exhaust ran with a one chambered flowmaster race muffler.. sounds great,
but will be going with a glass pack or 2 chambered flowmaster..
motor was dyno tested, top HP was 225HP, top torque was 170 at the flywheel.
not quit as much asI was loking for,,
So we will be installing a 2.3 svo turbo engine after car is complete.
on paper we are well over 350hp with the turbo motor.
