Sorry for not updating at all. I'll try to get some progess up on here. Otherwise check out my build thread on DSMTuners.

12/14/07 Managed to fire it up, but wouldnt stay at idle for more than a couple seconds at a time and die. Would also die if it was given gas. Im thinking it because the TPS isnt hooked up and the fact that the intercooler piping wasnt all hooked up. In the litte spurts that it was running how ever, I have come to find that this engine needs a reabuild... go figure. Come to find it has some bad blowby. Ran out of time today, so next week I'll be checking compression, and possibly starting on removal of the engine.

1/04/08 Began the process to remove the engine. Decided to pull the tranny and engine together. The axles were a pain in the arse to get out. They wouldnt come loose from the hub/knuckle, so I had to pull them out together. I'll hopefully be pulling the motor on Wednesday. I may end up cleaning all the suspension pieces and painting or powedercoating them while everything is out too.

Ready to come out, as you can see, its dead for now.

1/09/08 The engine has finally broken free from its home. Took almost 2 hours to do, but it was my first time and I didnt have any help.

1/18/08 Engine is at my house and on its stand. started the disassembly. I really, really wish I had a heated garage. It was around -5 degrees, space heater might've made it around 0 haha.

1/20/08 Getting to the internals now. This is going along pretty slowly.

1/24/08 Pulled the car home from my school (10 mph down 3 blocks) with the help of a couple friends. In charge of keepin' her straight was Zach (imagine-02).

1/25/08 The engine is now down to the bare block. I'll be doing a scrub down and measuring and inspecting. We'll see how much machine shop work I'll need done.
