This was my very first vehicle purchase in November of 05. Its a 1985 GMC 1/2 ton 4X4 originally a 305 but before i purchased the truck it was changed over to a 350 and switched from gas to propane. since i bought the truck i have added a phantom billet grill, 3" functional cowl induction hood, rancho RS5000 shocks, flowtech headers, K&N airfilter and MSD ignition its come a long way and still has a long way to go! my next purchase for the truck will be a 6" inch suspension lift most likely BDS and i have got some 35" tires that i can hopefully stretch over the stock ralley rims... let me know what ya think!

when i bought the truck it had some pretty major rust issues and once i got into the body work i kept finding more and more problems (rust) i replaced inner and outter cab corners and rocker panels on both the driver and passenger sides of the truck. they were not professionally done as i was only 16 at the time and dident have a whole lot of money to throw at it but they turned out decent and keep the weather out alot better than the old ones!

when the truck was converted from gas to propane the owner at the time had two 100 litre propane tanks mounted along side of each frame rail starting directly under the bench seat and ending at the front leaf spring mounts which made them quite awkward to get to and i also lost a few inches of clearance and they seen alot of rocks and salt in the winter which lead to rust covered propane tanks... something about sitting ontop of two rusty propane tanks (bombs) made me a little nervous so i found a used 400 litre tank that was in good shape which i bought for $50 and relocated my tank to the box.

while moving the truck around to get all the work done a friend managed to break my grill after a cold ride into town on the trailer which dident bother me to much because it gave me a good excuse to buy a phantom billet grill which i had wanted anyways, after installing the new grill the fog lamps dident look right sitting infront of the grill so they had to go!

after all this i ended up buying new wheel wells (front) new grill, new cab corners and rocker panels, new doors and i also had to find a better box (the original one was rusted out) so i picked up this one from a friend, it came off of a late 70's chevy thats why it has the circular gas holes which i have recently filled in because i dont need them being on propane.

i still need to giver her a real paint job because i took the cheap way and bought a bunch of spray cans and got a few friends together and went crazy on it... i feel real cheap for doin it but at the time i couldent afford to get someone to paint it for me.Travis_85's 1985 Chevrolet C/K Pick-Up

i just came across this tailgate that a friend had its custom made and is completly smoothed out, no rust just a couple scratches which wont matter because its going to have to be repainted to match my truck anyways.
