I got this truck off a farm when i was 15 (originally white with green interior), restored it to a good daily driver and lowered it 2" in the front and 3" in the rear, working on it on the weekends and driving it to school every day. It continued to be the daily driver for 11 years. The rust began to take over and I had to do something before it got too bad so...
The resto is slow going but will be worth the extra time and money in the end.
Once things got started, I decided I only wanted to do this once. So far I've stripped all the wiring out, and focused on the rust (cab corners, rocker panels, the notorious passenger front fender, etc). The custom work so far has been shaved door handles/remote entry, shaved drip rail, emblems, and antenna, gas tank moved to under bed, tailgate handle flipped to the inside, rollpan molded in, cowl hood, one piece power windows, and tilt steering. The side marker lights and stake pockets are also filled in.
Finally, I'll be rebuilding the 350 for around 400 HP to go with the 700R4 tranny and 3:73 posi rear that I just put in before I stripped it down.
After a couple years, the paint is on and getting wet sanded...soon the wiring mayhem begins.
Please rate my truck, let me know what you think.
