The mini has to go to the vrt every two years in the month of august.  This year it has to be submitted to the test.  So today [25-8-2008]  we took the mini to a vrt station close by.

However the mini failed two of the tests =[ the emissions due to a rich mixture and the steering and suspension due to a worn shock absorber.  Now on friday we ar going to take it abck so to be fixed and hopfully passes the test.

Last Friday [29-8-2008] we took the mini early in the morning back to the vrt station and mechanic and the worn shocks where replaced and the carburator was set.  The mini passed the vrt test. So now she's back on d road =D

This week [1-9-2008/6-9-2008] I started working on the center console to house the headunit I bought.  After i wired the headunit and checked if it was working, i drew a template out of cardboard and after several trial and errors i got it to fit.

I used 10mm tick mdf for the center console. it was quite a long and slow process to cut the wood as you need to make small adjustments continuasly butt eventually i manage to make it fit.

The only problem i had was with the heater control unit.  It sticked out too far so i had to build a frame around it.

the frame fixed the problem fast and now it looks much better than before =D

Did you make a paper template for your speaker box? If so, I need one. That looks really good, and I am no carpenter.I saw your Mini while updating my forum and had to have a look. Check out my Mini and see if you don't agree, that we have a few things in common.Your car looks so much better since the color change. Post all new stuff when you can. I'll give you 5*****s, and add you to my friends list.
