minighost's 1979 Austin Mini

Hi, tanks for visting my page =]

Something about my mini
Well my mini is the austin mini mk 4, built in tha Malta Car Assembly in 1979. It had 2 previous owners before it arrived into my possesion last summer. When i bought it, it was all orginal and still had its orginal seats and everything, however due to lack of care from the previous owners much of the interior is in a horrible state.

The engine
The engine is a standard 998cc engine with single carburator producing around 38 hp. The engine is still in a very good condition, with great throttle response and very good pulling ability.

The Interior
The interior didn't get much attention since I bought the mini. The only things I did was to clean it well and fabricated a wooden parcel shelf as the the old one had deterioreted.

The Exterior
My mini has still its original Russet Brown colour, however it is not original. Since it has been on the road it only had 1 respray which wasen't doen professionaly and so the roof is cracked. The body is still in a very good shape with only some dents. The worst part of the exterior must be its grill. It used to be chrome but one of the previous owner decided to sand it down and painted black. When i bought it it had no mirrors so the first thing i did was to install 2 side mirrors. I went for the TEX bullet mirrors. Soon the mini will be taken to be resprayed in a dark blue colour with white roof.

My MIni At the garage it was before i bought it

Did you make a paper template for your speaker box? If so, I need one. That looks really good, and I am no carpenter.I saw your Mini while updating my forum and had to have a look. Check out my Mini and see if you don't agree, that we have a few things in common.Your car looks so much better since the color change. Post all new stuff when you can. I'll give you 5*****s, and add you to my friends list.
