Shelby GT500!!
Here�s the story of this car:
In November of 2006 we decided we wanted to look into a Shelby. The problem was all the dealers were asking crazy markups on them. I went to my local dealer and asked about theirs. It was already sold with a $20,000 mark up! I moved on to the next dealer they had sold 2 already and had 2-3 more they were getting. They wanted $20k over but said they would settle for $15k over. We tried to deal with them, even offering to pay for the car that day and we wouldn�t get the car until March of 07. After an hour we got up and left with out my order for a Shelby. Two days latter, on a Saturday, I got a call from a friend who had been up in Sturgis Michigan. He found a dealership that had one coming and the guy who bought the car backed out. We went up the same day and made a deal with them for an agreed amount over sticker. That Monday it came in and I picked it up.
Little Info on the Car
Engine: 5.4L DOHC V8 500 hp 480 tq
Weight: 3900lbs (HEAVY!)
Transmission: T6060 6 Spd
The car is fully loaded with Shaker 1000, Interior Upgrade, and Sirius Satellite Radio. The sticker for the car was $45,050 and had 6 miles on it when we picked it up. The car has forged internals and responds to mods very well. This summer I'm picking up Evolution Performance Stage 2 or 3 kit. Should put me at about 550-600 rwhp.
Driving Impressions:
After driving it for a while I�ve noticed how much nicer the car drives than my GT and even 03/04 Cobras. The interior is much nicer and much more comfortable. For a muscle/sports car it rides very smooth and is much more quite than the other cars. Plus you can�t forget about the power it has. First and second gear are worthless and I can break the tires loose at 50 mph. The car pulls very hard right up to 6500 rpms and the blower sounds awesome. It does get wheel hop which sucks, I have heard that Ford might be making a fix for this. I haven�t been to the track yet but good drivers are running mid 12s stock.
