This was not a Barn find but a field find. I bought it for $200.

The original owner bought the truck new drove it for about 12 years then parked it behind his house where it sat for 37 years or so. I was going to restore it but I just did not have the time, the money or skill level to do the project right so I decided to sell it to give another enthusiast a chance at a great project. I have often wondered what could have been?

The truck was all-original. The engine was the original 235 cubic inch in-line 6 cylinder, and the transmission was the original 3-speed shift-on-the-column. The previous owner told me he had the motor running on gas from a bottle before I bought her, I did not try to start it. I'm sure the fuel tank needed to be cleaned. I was told the truck would actually start and move around the field it was parked. The brakes did not work. I assumed the master cylinder was bad as well as the brake cylinders. The engine was certainly in need of a rebuild and a clean up. There is no water in the oil.

The bed of the truck was six feel long. The original owner felt he could not slide the items he was hauling and welded a sheet of sheet metal over the wood bed. The bolts, hardware and wood were all there. The condition of the wood bed from below, looked surprisingly in great shape.

In the end I sold it to a guy who was going to chop it up and part it out on eBay. Sad!;-(

I made a $1000 but I would really rather be driving it now.
