Found Sept. 13, 2007. Anderdson, SC. Yes a true "Barn Find". It is a 1957 Nash Rambler 4 Dr. Deluxe Sedan. Fairly solid and had been a daily driver. Even has one of the older 4 ply Nylon tires in the trunk.
So now the quest begins.......

UPDATE 12/5/07
Well after a few weeks of tinkering the '57 finally came to life once more. Some of the issues were not revealed at the time of purchase but weren't too difficult. Ignition key had been lost years ago. After going through a bunch of misc. keys laying around I finally found one that worked, one from my storage building, yeah, go figure. Carb was gummed up, mechanical fuel pump had been disconnected supposedly due to a clogged fuel line. Actually the rubber connector between the filler neck and fuel tank was rotted through and there is no way to fill the tank. So the P.O. put a lawn mower fuel tank in the engine compartment and also installed a small electric fuel pump. Fuel pump had never been wired up, and little fuel tank had some crud in it.
Fixed the fuel issues, installed new plug wires, rotor cap and button, points and with a few sprays of starter fluid it finally started. Tried to move it but it wouldn't budge. Left rear wheel was locked up. Long story short, someone over did it with the shoe adjusters and the shoes were bonded to the drum. So a little more persuasion and that was freed. After about 4 weeks of tinkering here and there I was able to drive it across the yard to a place out of the weather. There are still no brakes, E-brake works but hydraulics are non-functional.
So fuel system and brakes will be the next task. Stay tuned and thanks for lookin'.
