Here in New England, any car older than about a 1998 typically has some major rust issues. This is a 1994, so I was expecting to see some holes, etc. when I climbed underneath it. I was rather surprised to see that the entire underside is completely free of any sign of rust, and the factory paint was still intact, despite the salt used on the roads.
As far as the mechanical aspect of the car, everything is pretty sound. As is typical for this age, the actuator rod for the wastegate is pretty much gone, so the turbo isn't working right now. That's about a $50.00 fix, so no big deal.
The car currently has about 200,000 miles, but the car was owned by a local dealership until about 5 months ago, so it was meticulously maintained and runs like it had barely 100,000 miles. Would you believe I only payed $1000.00 for this baby?
I'll keep updating as I add stuff. I am planning to go to school in a couple of years for car audio installation and fabrication, so a nice sound system is in the making after I finish the mechanical issues. I don't want to overpower the car with modifications, but rather accent the styling already there and make a more pleasant listening experience.
As soon as I get some better pictures I'll post them. I hope to have this car for several years to come.
