TheLizzard's 1988 Jaguar XJS

I purchased this 1988 Jaguar XJS V12 with only 99800kms on it. The body is in excellant shape and the interior needs a little TLC. I am posting pics of the interior as I tear it apart and put it back together. The only upgrade I would like to do on the outside is 2 Chamber Flowmaster exhaust. (Its way too quite) I'm upgrading the stereo. New head unit, door speakers, 8" subs and 2 amps. Possibly a 12" or two depending on space and porting issues from the trunk to the cab of the car, I discovered the fuel tank between the cab and the trunk.

The "slope" is cracking badly so I'm gonna take it out and recover it. Ash trays gotta go as well. (I'm a non smoker) can't even put change in them.

TheLizzard's 1988 Jaguar XJS Guages. This thing purrs at 200kms/hr. Yes I have already taken her there. (It still had lots of throtle to go)

WARNING: NOT FOR FAINT AT HEART... FEEL FREE TO LOOK AWAY BUT IT HAS TO LOOK BAD BEFORE IT LOOKS GOOD!!!

TheLizzard's 1988 Jaguar XJS I can't believe how much crap is under the "slope".

TheLizzard's 1988 Jaguar XJS The new home for 8" subs.

TheLizzard's 1988 Jaguar XJS The new slop with the new stereo installed.

Nice going with the upgrades. Keep posting the progress here because it stirs ideas. I lost count about how many times I've had that "scary" mess with everything apart from the center console to both sides under trays, rear seats, etc. But the rewards are great and you'll always enjoy them. It kind of gets you more attached to the car, no doubt. I've been close to getting rid of the ash trays, but cigars are OK in a convertible... Check out my kitty.

Very nice jag,I removed that little space above the gas tank and below the window and ported the box threw that area with dyno matting and 1 support bar in the center and it really worked great..I also relocated the fuel pump, computer and battery to make mine all work.. www.horsepowerforums.org

Love the color. The wiring is nothing, replace a shifter cable , siezed in park, in a carport and no way under it..lol. You go down through that mess of wires, grease your arm and disconnect the cable and try an extention/socket and aim for reverse. It a joy. Now I have a 5 speed. Maybe we'll see each other this summer. Do you get to the auto flea market in the spring and fall?
