Well this is the start of the rebuild of my 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass F5. I just bought it on 11/24/07 at the 33rd annual Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach, Fl. It has a stongly running 330ci V8 with only 86K original miles on it. The veh has 3 preious owners. The second owner of the veh put hydrolics on it which I will be removing and replacing with an air ride system. The outside body is in pretty good shape. The left front quater panel has a dent in it but can easily be removed, there is some slight rot spots on the rear quaters and on the hood, the interior needs to be redone top to bottom, the engine really only needs to be degreased and tuned up, and the chasis just needs to be sandblasted. I got the car for a great price, only putting 2K out of pocket for the vehicle. I am looking forward to getting to work on this car and bringing it back to life with some custom touches! Keep up with the build and please give me some imput on what you think.

So this is what I am thinking. Im going to check all the mechanical aspects of the veh first to make sure it stays up and running. Im first going to start with the interior and get that done because its really bad and I will be driving this car every weekend to work because it does run. Second I will get the body off the veh and get the frame sandblasted and painted along with the disc brake conversion all set up with new body bushing. Then will get the body work and paint done. I have a couple of ideas in mind for the paint scheme. Take my poll and tell me what you think I should do. Then lastly I will change up the motor and the rear. Im thinking about just rebuilding the 330 the way it is just upgrading the cams for that little bit more throaty sound along with a new exhaust. And how could I forget, adding the killer sound system.

So thats the plan. I will be updating it as things get completed.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Nice car. I just picked up my 67 a couple of weeks ago. I paid $3,700 with an additional 455ci motor and TH400 trans. The 350ci in it is just a junkyard motor but runs. Check out mine when you get a chance....

John, you are going to have a really beautiful car once you get it done. The foundation is VERY solid, and for only $2k out of pocket! Hey, I was thinking about a restoration project myself (my current Olds is still in original condition). How does one go about "get the body off the frame" as you wrote? Do all the panels just unbolt piece by piece. Sorry I sound so amateur, I am building my skills. I started about 6 years ago by refusing to pay out all that money to a shop for brakes, shocks, etc. But real body work?! A little nervous. But I am willing to try. Good luck with your project!!

Nice set of wheels, especially for 2k. i wouldnt bother with that 330 if i was in your shoes, they were underpowered for that size of car. i think that car deserves a nice big block. A Oldsmobile 455 Rocket Engine isnt too difficult to find, (Whatever you do, dont try to put in an engine that isnt oldsmobile, its a nightmare) and a TH-400 would be the tranny of choice for that car. Slap on a high rise intake, set of headers, mild cam and let that engine breath, and you can get around 22 mpg. An electric cooling fan wouldnt hurt either. its a good start, nice project, and have fun.
Check out my 68 Delmont 88 if you like. Got it for free and have invested about 300 bucks and isnt looking too shabby.
