My 2005 Chevy Cobalt Ss/SC Stage 3
That is her the day I broght her home. It was a nasty day but I didn't mind.
This is my first mod. A XTC Cold Air Intake. Soon after installing this, I fried the clutch and had to install a Spec Stage 3 clutch and a Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel.
My Stock wheel paint was chipping horribly so I decided to follow the footsteps of my first car, my mustang.
P.S. I also have the tails on the Cobalt blacked out but I get those pics later.
So I began stripping the stock wheels:
I primed them:
And painted and cleared them: (They are supposed to always have this metallic in them, but it has to be a flawless day to see it)
The Finished Product! (There's the cobalt's inspiration behind it)
Next I took the stock chrome headlights out, split them open and painted the interior flat black to match the wheels, windows, and plastic on the car. I Also hit the bow tie while I was at it.
After the clutch, flywheel, and intake, traction and wheel hop were a big issue. So I got the Ingall Tourque Dampner.
My next mods were my biggest. A Cobalt Addiction Stage 3 w/60lb injectors, CA Stainless Steel Header, XTC 2.5" Catless Downpipe, Aeroforce Interceptor Gauge, and Intense Polyurethane Tranny mounts and control arm bushings. Because the Ingalls did not work as well ad I thought it would. The Stage 3 kit comes with a 2.7" pulley, here you can see it.
Those were all of my mods up until about a week before Thanksgiving. Giving the new boost from the kit, the car run super hot all summer. Killed all the power. So I installed a Cobra Heat Exchanger. This came off a 2003 Supercharged Cobra. Their stocks are upgraded quickly and we put on their stocks, which is an upgrade for us. Got mine for free from a cobra mechanic. Here it is mounted with no front bumper.
This is during the install.
We were also painting the calipers and draining the entire clutch and brake system, hence the no wheels.
So this is my cobalt as of now
More pics to come with the new H/E and I'll show the blacked tails.
