All right, you know the Monte Carlo in the first scene of Fast & the Furious Tokyo Drift? That was my first insperation to build this Mustang. I didn't care how the car looked, as long as it dominated whatever event it partook. But now, I am near completeion of my SCCA/ NASA/ Drift machine! (I Hope...)

This is the latest photo of my 85 with all my mods done (sorry for the resolution unfortunately these pics were off my phone) I have A TON of pics coming soon throughout the build.

So this is the beast I bought for $300! No engine/ transmission. A 1985 shell (some rust included)...

So what is the first thing every racer does to their car(well at least this racer)...

I stripped the front end to prepare the install. (I will download before and in process pics soon). The 1985 origionaly came carborated, however if I wanted to seriously compete in Circuit races I knew I could not afford the RPM lag points most carbs are known for.

Here is the power plant I received a 1987 5.0 Fuel Injected engine also...$300! The engine came from a Lincoln town car with 80K on the odometer.

So I tore the motor down to rebuild it, however once I took the heads off I could still see the origional hone on the cylinder walls, and I found no sign of ware or tare on the engine intenals. I still took advantage of haveing the motor out to replace all the gaskets, and I installed a performance oil pump and water pump.

Thanks for checkin out my ride and I will post new pics ASAP.
