I finally was able to get my new spoiler. Had a slight problem with the first spoier but everything has turned out okay. I liked the looks of the 4th gen spoiler so I ordered one from Hawks Third Gen Parts along with the hood. The first spoiler that was sent to me was one of the spoilers that I had already had on my car, so I had to send it back and wait for the right one. It showed up so I went back to my parents house to get it put on. Here is what it looks like before I started to get the car ready to put it on.

After I took these pics, I went out and started working on getting the old spoiler off. I had to pop out the caps on the under side of the rear deck, take out the 4 bolts holding the spoiler and brake light on, the just tapped it forward and the spoiler came right off. Here is the spoiler after I got it off of the car.

The spoiler was splitting and rotting away from the inside and it left some rust residue all over the rear deck. You can see the residue and some of the metal particles that were falling out of the spoiler.

I got up early the next day so I could get a jump start on getting the spoiler. I put the spoiler on the car so I could try to get it lined up to where it needed to be on the car so it was even on both sides. I messed around with it for about 45 minutes or so trying to get it lined up. I got it where I wanted it to sit, so I decided to take a few pics of it sitting on the car and I really do like how it looks on the car.

I made a few marks on the deck for reference points, then I took the spoiler back off. The next thing that had to be done was the old clips from the original spoiler had to come off. They were spot welded on so I started with the drill to drill out the spot welds. The first one didnt go so well. I drilled a little eep and went through the metal strip around the window. It didn't get the window but was still deeper than I wanted.

The next one was a little better but still went a little deeper than I wanted.

They took for ever trying to drill through them. My brother came out to help and he got the grinder out and we ended up grinding off the rest of the clips. This I highly recommend to anyone wanting to take these clips off. It is much cleaner. As you can see from the other pics, we used the grinder to smooth down the other clips and this pic was the first one we used the grinder on. Wish he would have came out sooner to help.

Now came time for the hard part. Marking the holes to drill for the new spoiler. I think I spent over an hour trying to get the holes just right on the outer two pillars. I marked the deck so I could measure to were the hole was and I didn't think that would work to well. Next, I marked around the pillars with a pencil to mark where the pillars would sit. I thought this might work but then I decided to go a little further with it. I make some templates out of cardboard and made a hole in them were the holes were at then put them on the deck and marked the holes on the deck. It still took a while to get the templates to line up just right to where I thought that it looked good enough to start drilling. I was a little nervous about drilling through the deck but after I did, it wasn't that bad. I had my brother help me with the spoiler and found out that the holes lined up perfectly. Now was the time for the inner pillars. These didn't take quite as long but I did mess up a bit on one and had to make the hole bigger. I bolted it on to make sure that it fit just right, and I thought that it looked great.
I then ended up pulling the car into our grainery to do some sanding on the deck to remove the rust and get it ready to primer it to cover the bare metal. Here is the pic of the deck sanded and you can see the new holes that were drilled in the deck.

After I got it sanded down, I got some old newspaper to put over the window and the tail lights so I wouldn't get any paint on either one of them.

Here are a few pics of the deck after I got it primered. I just used some primer in a spray can for now until I can get some better paint and use the paint gun on the entire car. I don't think that it turned out that bad for now. I also went up and around the trim of the window. It was starting to get some surface rust on it so I decided to sand it down and paint it as well.

Now all that is left for the spoiler is the thrid brake light. For some reason it was not sent along with the spoiler so I could not put it in but it should be here this week. Also I have not filled in the original holes yet since I still have to make one more hole in the deck for the third brake light so I decided I would wait until I put the brake light in to seal up the original holes. I will have some pics of the car with the spoiler back on soon. Something happened to the pics on my disk so I could not access them. I will get some more pics taken and post them very soon.
