On June 7, 2003 I was invited by a friend to go to a MOPAR show in Des Moines with him and I told him I would go. I got the surprise of my life when I got there. His girlfriend told me that there was a car here that I really wanted to see. I asked her if it was a viper, she said no. I asked her if it was the prowler sitting behind me, she said no. I asked her if she could give me a hint. She told me that KITT was here. I didn't believe it. What was KITT doing at a MOPAR show? My friend confirmed it and said that one of the club memebers was building one and he was asked to bring it to the show. I stopped everything and I went looking for it and it didn't take me long to find it. I was in heaven. I have never seen one actually done. This one was not completely done but it was farther along than mine was. Here is what I saw when I walked up to it.
I looked at it for a bit and my friend asked if I would like to meet the owner and I said I would love to meet the owner. He introduced us and he said he had heard of me. Him and another guy had heard of sitings of a car in Ames with the nose and scanner on it and I told him it was me. We talked for a bit but then he had to get back to work. He was DJing the show. He was also waiting for a specific car to show up as well for a photo shoot and here is the car he was waiting for.
They had set up a to do a photo shoot with both their cars after the show and I new I had to stick around for that. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get photos of KITT and the General Lee together. Here is a couple pics of that photo shoot. It was raining a bit at the time but standing in the rain was worth it to get the pics of the two cars.
I had told the owner of the KITT that I had my car here as well and he told me to bring it down and put it in the shoot as well and we could have all 3 cars together. I was extremely happy with the opportunity to do this. Here is the pics that I have of the shoot.
I was so happy that I made it to the show for this. I was like a kid in a candy store.
After seeing his car and the nose that he has on it I am going to save up the money to get the nose that he has as well. His is a little longer and I think it looks a lot better.
Also I was not planning on getting the dash for this car but my other car that I am trying to work on that is going to be my complete conversion, but after seeing the dash in person, I want it in the car I am driving now. I can definitly see me driving my car with this dash in it. Now I am going to have to start saving a lot to get these parts. Hopefully I get my new job then I can start to afford these parts.
At this car show I made some new friends and one especially with the same intrests I do and I plan on getting together with him in the future to talk about our cars and whatever else comes up. He invited me to go to the Knight Nationals in Ohio and I am really thinking about trying to go.
2004 Second anual F-body meet
Here are the pics that I took from that car show. I was hoping to take more but the weather turned bad and I thought I would have more time for pics. Oh well, here is what I have.
If I am able to get more pics from others from the show I will post them as well.
Here are just a couple quick pics of my car and a friends car at the 2004 MOPAR show. His car was in the show, mine was in the parking lot. I will get more pics from this show up soon.
