Well, I finally got around to getting my car painted. A friend of mine offered to help me paint my car so I took him up on the offer.
Here is where we started by getting her jacked up and the wheels taken off.
and taking out the tail lights, spoiler and side marker lights.
We had to put the wheels back on and back it out of the booth to do other work on it first.
JJ filled in the factory holes for the factory spoiler by welding them shut and pounding them down a bit.
He had to do a lot of work the the roof to make it better.
and putting bondo on a few spots.
I got the nose pulled off and the fog lights as well.
Now comes the sanding and masking gettig ready for primer
After we got primer on the parts that needed to get primered.
Now come the time to wet sand everything and use the tack cloth to get everything cleaned up for painting and to mask everything off.
Here is what it looked like inside the booth while painting.
Here are the parts and the car after getting about 3 coats of paint on them
Now comes the time for the clear coat. He shot about 3 to 4 coats on the car. The first couple pics are of what it looked like inside the booth when shooting the clear coat. Now what KITT looks like with the clear all shot on the car and the parts.
Now KITT has been put back together and pulled outside to take a few pics. The car will be sitting for about 4 days so the paint and clear can cure a bit then it will be wetsanded, buffed and glazed. I think it looks awesome. I will take more pics when I get it buffed and everything. JJ, you did and awesome job on the car. Thanks a lot for doing this for me.
